Scholarships
- General Terms & Conditions
1. All scholarships offered by the Colleges are exclusively available to Saudi nationals, with the exception of the Social Responsibility Scholarship and the International Students Scholarship.
2. All scholarship programmes shall be subject to periodic review, either annually or whenever circumstances so warrant. Accordingly, the Colleges reserve the right to revise scholarship provisions, including increasing or reducing the benefits awarded or discontinuing the scholarships altogether.
3. The Colleges reserve the right to amend, suspend, or terminate any scholarship programme whenever deemed necessary in the best interests of the institution. However, the suspension or termination of a scholarship awarded to an existing beneficiary shall be governed by the applicable terms, conditions, regulations, and expressly stipulated grounds for discontinuation.
4. Applicants for any scholarship must demonstrate exemplary conduct and good moral standing and must not have been subject to any disciplinary action.
5. To be considered for any scholarship offered by the Colleges, applicants must submit a duly completed scholarship application, accompanied by all requisite supporting documentation and evidence of eligibility, at least one month prior to the commencement of the academic semester.
6. A scholarship shall be suspended or discontinued under any of the following circumstances: the issuance of a disciplinary decision against the student; disqualification from a course owing to absenteeism exceeding the permissible threshold prescribed by institutional regulations; failure in any academic course; or receipt of an academic warning.
7. The continuation of renewable scholarships shall be contingent upon maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.75 out of 4.00 for undergraduate students and 3.50 out of 4.00 for postgraduate students enrolled in master's programmes. This academic performance requirement shall not apply to beneficiaries of the Social Responsibility Scholarship or the Scholarship for Relatives of College Employees. Nevertheless, continued eligibility for these two scholarships shall remain conditional upon the student not receiving an academic warning.
8. Students shall not be permitted to hold or benefit from more than one scholarship offered by the Colleges concurrently.
9. Scholarships approved by the Colleges shall not be applicable to educational specialisations or programmes for which reduced tuition fees are already in effect.- Social Responsibility Scholarship
The Social Responsibility Scholarship constitutes a nationally oriented, socially responsive scholarship initiative designed to promote educational equity, strengthen community engagement, and extend institutional support to deserving individuals. Its beneficiaries may include individuals demonstrating exceptional distinction across various fields, family members of martyrs who lost their lives in the line of duty, individuals supported by charitable organisations, and persons facing special needs or exceptional personal circumstances.
The scholarship is available to eligible students pursuing undergraduate and master's degree programmes, subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. Applicants shall submit all relevant supporting documents and verifiable evidence establishing their eligibility under the category for which they are applying. The Higher Scholarship Committee may require additional documentation whenever necessary to ascertain the applicant's circumstances and determine the extent to which the eligibility criteria are satisfied.
2. Applicants must provide documentary evidence confirming that they are not receiving any scholarship or financial assistance from governmental, non-governmental, or charitable organisations, employers, or any other entity responsible for covering their tuition fees, whether in full or in part. The Committee reserves the right to request supplementary documents, declarations, or official certifications to verify compliance with this requirement.
3. Applicants shall submit a formal declaration attesting to the accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of all information and supporting documentation provided. They shall also disclose any scholarship or financial assistance received from any source throughout the period of scholarship entitlement and undertake to notify the Colleges immediately of any subsequent change in their circumstances or the receipt of additional financial support.
4. Fulfilment of the application requirements and submission of the prescribed documentation shall not, in themselves, constitute an automatic entitlement to the scholarship. All applications shall undergo a comprehensive assessment and competitive evaluation by the Higher Scholarship Committee, taking into consideration the applicant's demonstrated eligibility, the supporting evidence submitted, the number of available scholarships, and the priorities established by the Committee.
5. The Higher Scholarship Committee shall be authorised to verify the authenticity and accuracy of submitted information and documentation through legally permissible means. It may also request original documents, supplementary declarations, or any additional evidence deemed necessary before issuing its recommendation concerning an application.
6. Where it is established at any stage that an applicant has submitted inaccurate or misleading information or documentation, or has deliberately failed to disclose a scholarship or financial assistance received from another source, the scholarship shall be revoked with effect from the date on which the violation is substantiated. The Colleges shall retain the right to recover any tuition fee reductions or financial benefits granted on the basis of inaccurate information and to undertake any further measures deemed appropriate under the applicable laws and institutional regulations.
7. The award of the scholarship shall be determined through the Higher Scholarship Committee's assessment of eligible applicants and shall remain subject to the prescribed number of scholarship awards and the approved levels of financial support.- Siblings and Relatives Scholarship
The Siblings and Relatives Scholarship is a family-oriented financial assistance initiative intended to alleviate the financial burden of higher education by providing tuition fee reductions to eligible family members of enrolled students. The scholarship extends to first-degree relatives, comprising fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, husbands, and wives, and second-degree relatives, comprising brothers and sisters, as classified under this scholarship policy.
The scholarship applies exclusively to undergraduate programmes and is governed by the following conditions:
1. Applicants shall submit their scholarship applications sufficiently in advance of the commencement of the academic semester, no later than two weeks before its commencement.
2. Applicants shall provide all documentary evidence required by the Higher Scholarship Committee to establish and verify the relevant familial relationship.
3. Scholarship eligibility shall be limited to a maximum of three (3) regularly enrolled students from the same family, provided that their familial relationships fall within the categories expressly recognized under this policy.- Scholarship for Relatives of College Employees
The Scholarship for Relatives of College Employees represents an institutional welfare and employee-support initiative through which Arab East Colleges seek to recognise the contributions of their personnel by extending tuition fee reductions to their eligible first- and second-degree relatives pursuing undergraduate studies.
The scholarship shall be awarded in accordance with the following terms and conditions:
1. The employee through whom scholarship eligibility is established must be in active employment with the Colleges at the time of application and must have completed at least five years of service with the institution.
2. The student applying for the scholarship must satisfy all applicable admission requirements and eligibility criteria prescribed by the Colleges.
3. Applicants shall submit the necessary official documentation establishing the qualifying familial relationship, in accordance with the requirements specified by the Higher Scholarship Committee.
4. This scholarship shall not apply to academic programmes or specialisations for which reduced tuition fees have already been approved.
5. Scholarship benefits shall be restricted to one eligible relative per employee, and no employee may have more than one relative benefiting from this scholarship concurrently
- International Students Scholarship
The International Students Scholarship is a merit-based academic initiative designed to attract exceptionally accomplished international students to undergraduate and master's degree programmes. The scholarship seeks to foster academic excellence, enrich the institution's intellectual and cultural diversity, strengthen its international academic profile, and enhance its competitiveness within the higher education landscape.
The scholarship shall be governed by the following eligibility requirements and regulatory provisions:
1. Applicants must fulfil all academic admission requirements applicable to their intended programmes of study, together with all statutory and regulatory requirements governing the admission and enrolment of international students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2. Applicants must demonstrate a distinguished record of academic achievement. Mere satisfaction of the minimum admission requirements of the relevant academic programme shall neither constitute sufficient grounds for scholarship consideration nor establish an entitlement to the award.
3. Applicants seeking admission to undergraduate programmes who have obtained their secondary school certificates within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must have achieved a weighted admission score of not less than 95%. Applicants whose secondary school qualifications were obtained outside the Kingdom must have achieved an overall score, or its officially recognised equivalent, of not less than 95%.
4. Applicants seeking admission to master's degree programmes must possess an outstanding academic record and must have obtained an undergraduate qualification with an overall classification of Excellent, at a minimum. Where the bachelor's degree was awarded by an institution outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the awarding university must be among the institutions recommended by the Saudi Ministry of Education, and the qualification must satisfy all other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
5. Applicants shall submit all documents, certificates, and supporting evidence required for both academic admission and scholarship consideration. The Higher Scholarship Committee may request additional documentation, official statements, or other forms of evidence deemed necessary to verify the applicant's eligibility.
6. Scholarship recipients must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and administrative instructions governing residence and academic study in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Continued scholarship eligibility shall be contingent upon maintaining compliance with these requirements throughout the period of the award.
7. Applicants must not be recipients of any scholarship or financial assistance provided by a governmental, non-governmental, or charitable organisation, employer, or any other entity covering tuition fees, whether wholly or partially. Documentary evidence confirming the absence of such financial support shall be submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Scholarship Committee.
8. Applicants shall provide a formal declaration confirming the authenticity, accuracy, and completeness of all submitted information and documentation. They must disclose any scholarship or financial assistance received from any source and undertake to notify the Colleges of any subsequent changes in their financial support arrangements throughout the scholarship period.
9. Scholarship applications shall be subject to a competitive selection process based on the applicant's demonstrated academic distinction, the number of available scholarship places, and any additional selection criteria approved by the Higher Scholarship Committee. Compliance with the prescribed eligibility requirements shall not, in itself, confer an automatic entitlement to a scholarship award.
10. Where any information or documentation submitted by an applicant is subsequently found to be inaccurate or misleading, or where the applicant has failed to disclose financial assistance or scholarship support received from another entity, the scholarship shall be revoked. The Colleges shall retain the right to recover any tuition fee reductions or financial benefits granted on the basis of inaccurate information and to initiate any further action warranted under the applicable laws and institutional regulations.
